Cycle 2: Northeast Six Process

First Stage: November 2006 to December 2006

Focus:

Personal Study and Reflection
Small Groups Possible

Purpose:

To study the responses from the Spring Intercongregational Meetings
To reflect on resources

Second Stage: February 2007 to May 2007

Focus:

Ten One Day Meetings of 25 - 40 persons

Purpose:

To dream the Vision and Mission for NED6
"Who are we called to be as Dominican Women and Associates at this time?"
"Around WHAT do we want to focus our hearts, our lives?"

Third Stage: Autumn 2007 to November 2007

Focus:

Large Group Meeting (s) - (Intercongregational)

Purpose:

To be challenged and inspired by the realities of Church and Society (Presenter)
To discern together our vision
To receive updates from New Orleans Initiatives and some Sub-Committees

Fourth Stage: Winter 2007 to April 2008

Focus:

Small Congregational Groups (organized by Steering Committee and Congregation's Vision Conveners)

Purpose:

To deepen reflection around Vision Statement
To find ways to organize ourselves around the Vision Statement to make it real in our lives

Fifth Stage: April 5, 2008

Focus:

Large Intercongregational Meeting

Purpose:

To have education from Canon lawyer on the three possible canonical models (Merger, Federation, Union)
To celebrate our Vision Statement
To identify some specific initiatives (projects, ministries, etc.) to support our Vision Statement

Sixth Stage: Fall 2008 ~ September - November

Focus:

Models and Structures

Purpose:

To study the materials from the New Structures committee
To gather in prayer as a Congregation

Seventh Stage: November - December 2008

Focus:

Personal Discernment
Congregational Meetings

Purpose:

To engage members in a time of discernment and the expression of members' preferences about the Models
To share the results of all six Congregations on December 16, 2008
To also announce, if the decision for all is clear, on December 16, 2008
To possibly continue individual Congregational consultation with members if the decision is not clear
To have the gathering of the DLCNE Leadership group in January, 2009
