Cycle 2: Northeast Six Process

First Stage:    November 2006 to December 2006

Focus:             

  • Personal Study and Reflection

  • Small Groups Possible

Purpose:        

  • To study the responses from the Spring Intercongregational Meetings                        

  • To reflect on resources

Second Stage: February 2007 to May 2007

Focus:             

  • Ten One Day Meetings of 25 - 40 persons

Purpose:         

  • To dream the Vision and Mission for NED6

  • "Who are we called to be as Dominican Women and Associates at this time?"

  • "Around WHAT do we want to focus our hearts, our lives?"

Third Stage:   Autumn 2007 to November 2007

Focus:             

  • Large Group Meeting (s) - (Intercongregational)

Purpose:         

  • To be challenged and inspired by the realities of Church and Society (Presenter)

  • To discern together our vision   

  • To receive updates from New Orleans Initiatives and some Sub-Committees              

Fourth Stage:  Winter 2007 to April 2008

Focus:              

  • Small Congregational Groups (organized by Steering Committee and Congregation's Vision Conveners)

Purpose:          

  • To deepen reflection around Vision Statement

  • To find ways to organize ourselves around the Vision Statement to make it real in our lives

Fifth Stage:   April 5, 2008

Focus:               

  • Large Intercongregational Meeting

Purpose:           

  • To have education from Canon lawyer on the three possible canonical models (Merger, Federation, Union)
  • To celebrate our Vision Statement
  • To identify some specific initiatives (projects, ministries, etc.) to support our Vision Statement

Sixth Stage:      April 5, 2008 to October 2008

Focus:

  • + Vision Reflection Booklet

Purpose:                

  • Study and Reflection (Personal, Communal) with Vision Statement

Focus:            

  • Vision Initiatives

Purpose:

  • To shape plans for the implementation of Vision Initiatives
  • To begin implementation of Vision Initiatives as appropriate

Sixth Stage:   September 14 to October 25, 2008

Focus:

  • Educational Session

Purpose:

  • To deepen understanding of Canonical Models
  • To study possible structures for Canonical Federation and Union
  • To study possible structures for a form of collaboration that do not need

           canonical reconfiguration

  • To evaluate each structure and surfaced implication

Seventh Stage:  November 8, 2008

Focus:                 

  • + Intercongregational Gatherings

Purpose:            

  • To connect with the values in our Vision Statement
  • To offer a leaning on the Models and structures presented
  • To review the progress of the Vision Initiatives

Eighth Stage: Late Autumn 2008 - December 2008

Focus:

  • Personal Discernment

  • Congregational Meetings

Purpose:

  • To consider implications of the proposed models for the Congregation and the other five Congregations

  • To decide to continue in the discernment or to choose another alternative
